Trying to catch up

I am really, really trying to catch up with everything. The summer has been so busy that my office became unbearable – I could hardly get into it. So I’ve spent the last few days tidying, sorting and cleaning. I think I’m nearly there – I probably won’t be able to find anything now!

I promised to let you know the titels of the small ensembels we played at Abbotsholme. Thet were all very good. Here is the list:

Downes: Sonata for8 flutes (this was excellent and deserves much more playing – I’ll tell you a story about it soon). octet (1 bass + 2 alto) Team Stephen

McDowall: Shuffle by the Seaside (sextet – 4 flutes 2 piccolos) Team Gareth

Tschaikovsky: Dance of the Reed Flutes (3 flutes + piano)  this was a stunning performance. Team Chris

Trad arrCowles: Drunken Sailor (3 flutes) and they palyed a piece by Mozart but I’ve forgotten which. Team David

Joplin: Entertainer (3 flutes) Team Abbie

Hanmer: Flute Trios Team Sandy

Lajos: Train from 6 easy pieces for 4 flutes Team Barbara

Fun was had by all!
