Sorry I haven’t posted for quite some days. Two reasons – I’ve been busy with the magazine and no one has left any comments. Comments really spur me on. Maybe someone could leave one today.
The magazine is well on it’s way. I’ve been up to my eyes pulling an article together about tuners and metronomes today. My desk is full of the things. It’s really interesting having 6 or 7 metronomes beating together! You’ll have to wait for the magazine to find out which we liked the most. I have become very attached to one tuner, it’s really good.
Alongside the magazine, I’m trying to get my head around the big Barbican event. I know it will be great fun, I just need to get all the planning done.
I’ve had a couple of trips up to Just Flutes in Croydon over the last week. My flute was playing up – although I did at one stage think it was just my lack of regular practice. I was relieved to learn it wasn’t and my flute needed a couple of new pads and some adjustments. Ian McLauchlan is brilliant! It was good to see Jonathan Myall there as well and discuss some inovations for the flute learning world.
Last Sunday we had a great rehearsal for the Christmas concert Fluetwise is taking part in. The people who turned up were fantastic – but I’d be much happier if I had more players. Can YOU help out and play. You’ll find the rehearsal details on the events page. Let me know if you can come. Please!

Well….it’s 10.30pm and no comments! Poor Liz! I’ve just come back from a rehearsal – we are playing Schumann’s Conzertstucke (for 4 solo horns) on Saturday – they are fab!!
We are also playing Malcolm Arnold’s Tam O’Shanter Overture, it has a bit of a scary piccolo part, but it is fun… has anyone else played this?
Hope this spurns you on into doing lots of work tomorrow Liz! xx
Hi Liz,
Remember me, I used to be Donna Wareham, you taught me for years (too many years ago!). Just discovered the Flutewise website. Will join immediately just to find out which tuner you fell in love with.
Donna.
I enjoy the blog. I picked my flute up today after about 4 months of not playing. It was FAB! I wish I had more time to play …..
Keep up the good work.
JJ
