Lucy Needs Help

Who can help her? Here is her request from the comment box in Flutewise Competition:

Sorry i haven’t left a post for ages; I’ve been quite busy with mocks and things.

I have been asked to play a concerto in about 11 months time at a
huge chorale concert in a cathedral and i was wondering if anyone has
any suggestions or recommendations as to what I should play as its got
to be pretty impressive as i’m the main soloist so I need something
grade8/diploma standard although I’m willing to learn something harder
if need be. I’ve already been thinking of Mozart, Rutter and vene Danzi
but I just wondered if anyone had any suggestions? My teacher reckons
that French pieces suit my tone the best and I really enjoy playing
them.

Thanks, love Lucy xxx

My suggestion – Chaminade Concertino

I agree. Chaminade would be a good choice

I think that the Francaix Divertimento is great, it’s scored for small orchestra but they need to be fit. The last movement has some challenges but the rest is fine
