I suppose that should be a Happy Flute Playing New Year. I hope 2008 brings us all everything we need and deserve. I’m sure flute playing will improve immensely by this time next year. Can you remember back to last January and what you were able to play then? I think it’s always really encouraging to get old pieces out and play them – it’s ‘revision’ (much nicer than revise other subjects). If you do, you’ll notice how much you have improved.
I’m really flattered by the comments and suggestions I should have some sort of honour. I doubt it will ever happen as I believe you need to have people who already have such gongs to nominate you. (I know Stephen has often said he wants to get me one so I can then get him one!) But having your support and involvement in Flutewise is the biggest honour in the world for me – so please just keep involved and we’ll all keep enjoying ourselves!
I’m hoping this year will be a really good one for Flutewise. The end of last year was a bit of a disaster, what with my local Post Office closing and the Post Office not delivering lots of your magazines and other things… but more about those some other time.
Apologies to you if you haven’t got your magazine yet, I’ll get yours to you as soon as I can – if you let me know you didn’t receive it of course.
