I’ve got a cat. Her redeeming feature is she is beautiful, very beautiful. But she is a total nightmare a lot of the time. Her name is Doppy, which is short for Doppler. He was a flute player/composer. We’ve had lots of cats named after flute players – Taffie, Gaubie (Taffanel and Gaubert) and Buffy, short for Buffardin.
Back to Doppy. I can’t quite understand how one little cat can make more mess in the house than everyone else who lives here. This morning I cleaned all of the floors and then went out shopping. When I got back the floor was covered in brown muddy paw prints everywhere and it wasn’t even raining. A few days ago, before I went away last time, before I went to bed I got all of my things together for my trip in a bedroom at the back of the house so when I got up very early next morning I wouldn’t disturb my husband. There’s a chest in this room, about 4 foot high. I put two clean white blouses on to of it. When I went in the next morning they were COVERED in brown muddy paw prints! What I want to know is how can she get from the back garden, through the house, all the way up the stairs, across a landing, into a bedroom and still have very dirty paws?! Does she fly up?

Doppy is gorgeous.
Cats are amazing. Ours has started to come and sit at our feet in the lounge in the evenings, waiting to play with her laser light. She just sits and stares at us until we get the light, then she scoots around after it. She loves it!
When it is wet outside and she comes in , she comes to ask to get herself dried, I’m convinced she has seen the dog getting dried off and having his paws cleaned so sees it as her right too. (If no-one is about she will go and lie on my daughters bed with her wet fur and paws!)
