Some days are really excellent – I am really busy and achieve loads.
Some days I’m really busy and seem to achieve nothing.
Some days are really quiet and I don’t know what I achieve.
Today has been manically busy and I’m very, very happy at what I’ve achieved.
The great news is my flute is mended! Thanks to that really lovely man, Ian McLauchlan (in the photo above). Poor old flute had a key that decided that it couldn’t be bothered to come back up once it had been depressed. I knew Ian could work his magic on it and he certainly has. I’m very, very grateful Ian – THANK YOU. (Did you know Ian has written an article for every single Flutewise magazine – that’s 20 years of articles!)
I was a bit disappointed when I got to Just Flutes, where Ian has his workshop, as I was also meant to have a meeting with Jonathan Myall but he’d escaped, on holiday. How dare he! So no pink flute.
Before I went to Just Flutes I stopped off t have coffee with Gareth McLearnon – I only got lost twice on the way there, three times between his house and Just Flutes and once on the way home. I really must get a new sat nav, I do need it. I had a fabulous cup of coffee, so I’ll be going back there again, and a nice chat with Gareth and Abbie who was also there. We made plans – I’ll tell you later.
Then I came home and took 309 letters to the post office. They were heavy and it was really windy. I came back exhausted, but had to get on with my next job as a travel agent. All plans are now ready to go for Croatia.
After that I did some work for our course and then some music for Croatia. I’m really pleased with what I have managed to do today, including a good play of my beautiful flute.
I’m just updating my ipod now and the I’m off to bed. Hopefully tomorrow will be even more productive.

What a busy day!!!!!! I love it when my flute comes back and has been serviced. It feels like new again although i hate it when it gets cleaned and polished because I like it to look a little “used”.
Hope everyone is good. Not been to many comments lately. Where is everyone?
Love,
Stephen.
P.S. Did anyone see Hollyoaks – Max died!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, I just had to comment on this one!!!!!!!!!!
I’ll start with the flute side of things- I’m selling my old flute soon, which will be quite sad…but I like my new one even more. It’s really weird when i go back to my old one now (which has closed holes) because it feels unnatural as there is nowhere to sit your fingers; it’s just strange…
Also, we had this concert at school last night for the lower end of the school, so i got asked to help out on the second flute part. I was actually pretty impressed with my sightreading seeing as I hadn’t seen it before-although i did get a bit put off when people didn’t bother to count and came in when they felt like it during rehearsals. however, i managed to stay calm and kindly pointed out when to come in. I also felt rather tall sitting next to two rather small people, which is a bit unusaul for me, as i ‘m about average height in my year!
Anyway, i’m breaking up from school tomorrow!!! Also, very upset about hollyoaks!!!!!!!!!!
At first, i though what will happen to Tom???? But temptation got the better of me, so I looked it up and now I know what happens…. but i won’t say anthying, I don’t want to spoil it for anyone.
Hope you are all well!

I got my flute serviced last week too, had a bit of a hiccup when I got it back but now all is well. It is great to have it back!
I sold my old flute last year, it was rathere sad but also great to know that someone else can have as much fun with it as I did

Hey,
I need to add a coment for Stephen’s sake!!
I agree that flutes need to look used – although i do like giving it a spring clean (however after one practice it will already be back to the way it was before lol!)
Unfortunately, i haven’t been able to do any music practice this week as i’ve been doing work experience and the little kids are tiring me out! This has upset me a bit because i love my instruments!! (especially my flute and sax – bassoon is nice to play but is a nuisance to get out of its case)
I’m also busy with dancing at the moment as we’ve got a show coming up at the end of July! I’m so excited! And following that i’m doing a course with the Herts Wind Sinfonia which should be fun!! I can’t wait cus it’s my first one!!
Anyway – i seem to have blabbered on for a while now, so what has everyone else been up to?

Ellie – I’m going on Herts Wind Sinfonia course too! They are great fun – I’m sure you’ll really enjoy it and i’ll look forward to meeting you there
