Tonbridge and Lord Stephen

We had a lovely day at the Judd School, Tonbridge. Enormous thanks to Pat Daniels and Alison Aries for making it possible. There are a really great lot of young flute players in Tonbridge.

Andy Thomson from Top Wind was there with a huge display of instruments and music. He even joined in one of the groups when we were working on the Purple Cow – what a nice person to do that. That’s Andy in the photo above.

There have been rather a lot of comments over the last few days. Do you think someone is trying to wind me up? Am I really thought of as a geek? What is a geek? Or is Lord Stephen a geek? Who knows ….

Tomorrow Sandy & I have the big rehearsal with all of our fabulous young flute players who are going to Slovenia. It’s just what we need, so flutey time at Ovingdean Hall.

Me again!!!!!!!!!!!!

So what a day we have all had in Tonbridge.

thanks to all who attended. you made it all a great day. Il tell you briefly about it -

We started off with just a small group of people where we did some masterclass style work on music including Saint-Saens Romance. Well done to everyone who played – I was very very very immpressed. then we had lunch (I had Chicken and stuffing and a bottle of strawberry flavoured volvic. Liz had salmon and cucumber).

then after lunch lots more people came and joined. about 37 in total i believe. we worled on lots of things. We did a warm up, improvisation, the famous flutewise bubble blowing, flute choir, purple cow and there was a fantastic selection of goodies from Top Wind which Andy has so kindly brought down. thanks to him!!!!! Also thanks to Susan (our wonderful piano player for the day).

we finnished with a wee informal concert for friends and family. i played a quick pie in the Face Polka and then the flute choir played beautufully.

Afterwards Liz chauffeured me back to her home where I was fed pizza and trifle. i am now contemplating heading off (once I have finished this blog) because i have to drive back to Manchester tonight.

So thanks for reading my 2 day blog. IF I get 20 comments with this post, i might just consider doing it again. After all, i have lots of interesting things to tell. eg. I can fill you in on the car journey home (did you know i had a toll of £4.50 just to drive on the M6 – amazing!!!!).

Anyway for now (perhaps), yours as ever,
Duke/Count/Lord/Honourable Stephen.

Guess who is writing this!!!!!!!!

Well hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a very, very, very, very special moment because for the first time EVER the blog is not being written by Liz but in fact is being written by me……….Stephen!!!!!! Whooooo!!!!!  So before I go any further I expect this to be the most read, the most commented on and the most talked about blog posting ever, ever, ever in the entire world!!!
So….the reason I am here is because tomorrow there is a very exciting Flutewise event happening in Tonbridge. this even is certain to be spectacular.  i cant wait.  Tonight I am very kindly being put up by Liz in her lovely home in Portslade but i know I will not get any sleep because I am far too excited about tomorrow!!!!!  So while I lie awake in my bed I will attempt to read through ALL the back issues of Flutewise magazine since its conception 20 years ago.  I have attempted this feat once before – but I only managed to make it to the issues of 1998 so tonight I hope to complete the task.
I have very little flutey things to say really……..so I will leave it there for now……
BUT……if there is “sufficient”  comments made regarding this blog then maybe, just maybe I might just leave another blog entry before I return to Scotland!!!!!  But there has to be loads and loads of comments so tell your friends, family, colleagues, employers, neighbours, bus drivers, doctors, religious leaders, pets, politicians, world leaders (and if your that posh – personal trainer) to read this and make a comment!!!!!!!  there is now officially NO excuse!!!!!!!  Above (or possibly below f I don’t do this right) you will see a photo taken by Lady Goodwin herself of me typing this blog.
Yours Flutily (and now Blogiliy too),
Lord/Master/King/Sir/Mr Stephen Clark.
P.S.  Go Team Stephen!!!!!!!
