I’m getting a new piccolo for Christmas – I tried the pearl and the yamaha62. although the pearl was much easier to play initially, as I played the yamaha more I found I could get a much nicer sound out of it and more dynamics etc. I also liked the look and feel of the wooden piccolo much more, but the pearl did seem lovely too.

Didn't think I'd get in but just goes to show, you never can tell!<br/><br/>I've just upgraded my Yamaha pic with a Bigio headjoint. I tried the pearl and it was very easy to play as soon as I picked it up but after spending a whole afternoon with my final three choices I found that after a while I was able to do more with the Bigio. Perhaps because I play the same flute headjoint?? <br/>I Love the magazine, especially the article on Greg, the flute beat box, he's amazing!
