2 Things I’d Like to Know About

Has your magazine arrived? What do you think of it? We would quite like some feedback.

The second thing is – have you had a new flute or piccolo this year? Or maybe you are having one for Christmas. If so, what make have you got? Do you like it? Is it an improvement on your old one?
There are some really good makes of flute and piccolo on the market (and, sadly, some rubbish ones.) I’ve been hearing some fabulous things about the Pearl piccolo, but I haven’t tried one. Have you?
Looking forward to your responses.

Nope, no magazine yet, but it may be that I haven’t received a renewal form, I’m not sure when it’s due. SnailHannah

Hi Liz, Good news this morning, I’ve been offered a place in the National Youth orchestra of Wales! Didn’t think I’d get in but just goes to show, you never can tell!

I’ve just upgraded my Yamaha pic with a Bigio headjoint. I tried the pearl and it was very easy to play as soon as I picked it up but after spending a whole afternoon with my final three choices I found that after a while I was able to do more with the Bigio. Perhaps because I play the same flute headjoint??
I Love the magazine, especially the article on Greg, the flute beat box, he’s amazing! Next years artist of the year maybe??!!

    See you
    Jack

    Hi Liz
Got my magazine about a week ago! Had a quick look through – looks good but will take more time to read it properly after term ends on Friday!

The magazine hasn’t arrived yet.. perhaps it’s taking a while because of all the Christmas post.

Wow well done Jack that is awesome! You must be thrilled!

I’m getting a new piccolo for Christmas – I tried the pearl and the yamaha62. although the pearl was much easier to play initially, as I played the yamaha more I found I could get a much nicer sound out of it and more dynamics etc. I also liked the look and feel of the wooden piccolo much more, but the pearl did seem lovely too.
